544. Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Seminar
Interactions with the Nanoworld: Local Probes with
Scanning Probe microscopes have changed our view of matter. Properties of surfaces, nanostructures and molecules can now be measured and modified at all length scales down to individual atoms.
New techniques push the limits of high resolution in space, energy and time and new theoretical frameworks are being developed at a rapid pace.
This international workshop will highlight recent advances in scanning probe experiments and related theory. It will bring together young scientists actively working at the forefront of nanoscience.
The workshop will encompass 20 invited talks and 3 dedicated overview lectures. We especially encourage PhD students to attend and present their research in the poster session.
The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus foundation provides extensive support. All participants will receive complementary housing and meals throughout the workshop and there will be no registration fee.
The workshop will be held at the Physik-Zentrum Bad Honnef. The Wilhelm und Else Heraeus Foundation kindly funds and coordinates the meeting. The Wilhelm und Else Heraeus Foundation provides housing for up to 75 participants and an inspiring collaborative environment in which all participants can share their knowledge and experience.
