Scientist/Senior Scientist and Group Leader in Femtosecond Optics (MPSD Hamburg)

We seek a scientist with at least three years of postdoctoral experience in femtosecond optics. The successful candidate will to lead a team of postdocs and graduate students aimed at the development of femtosecond mid-infrared and THz optics and their application to materials control. The goal is to further develop our experimental sources, which currently include five laser systems equipped with commercial and home built mid-infrared Optical Parametric Amplifiers with carrier-envelope phase stable outputs, high-field THz sources and various sub-10 fs sources. Interest in Free electron Laser and X-ray Optics is an asset, although no experience is required.

This position is for one year with the possibility of renewal after evaluation. Transition into a permanent position may become possible.
